Carolyn Morgan, Regional Director | Newark, DE

Carolyn Morgan has served as the Delaware Regional Director for the past fifteen years. The initial small foster care program of 2007 has enlarged substantially under her leadership. The service population is diverse in racial and ethnic backgrounds and includes children and youth from birth to age 23. The current array of programs includes the Therapeutic Foster Care program, the ICAN Independent Living program, the Parent Partner program, and the After Hours Crisis Support program. The office also serves as a field training setting for MSW social worker student interns from various universities in DE, PA, and NJ.

Carolyn’s family roots are in the Pittsburgh, PA area. She holds a BSW social work degree from Central State University, Wilberforce, OH; an MSW social work degree from Ohio State University, Columbus; and is a licensed clinical social worker and therapist. Prior employment includes the Delaware State University Department of Social Work, the US Department of Veteran’s Affairs, and the US Department of Defense. She is a 1999 founding member of the DE Woman of Color Task Force Against Domestic Violence and serves as the organization’s chairperson. She is a deacon at New Destiny Fellowship, Wilmington, and has served her church in various leadership capacities since 1987. Carolyn demonstrates her commitment to the local community through board memberships and volunteer efforts with various DE social service agencies. Personal interests include US and international travel with her husband and family, weaving, and quilting.
