PLC has partnered with a local Ghanaian-American artisan specializing in African-print-inspired masks and accessories. Judith told us about Akos Group Intl., the family business named for her mother Akos who is part of the Ashinti tribe of Ghana, “My mother’s passion is to make people feel beautiful in the clothes and prints she grew up with in Ghana. She makes these prints/cloths accessible by re-imagining clothing and accessories in current styles and designs.” Though Akos has been creating for more than 30 years, it was only recently that she and Judith opened shop, deciding to first help fulfill the need for protective gear.
